Local favourites Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) edged out Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) 3-2 to register their second win in the All-India Public Sector Hockey Tournament at the Biju Patnaik Hockey Stadium here on Wednesday.
Suman Ekka scored a brace for SAIL, who got their match-winner through captain Amardeep Ekka. Surendra Singh and Jayant struck a goal each for ONGC.
In another match of the day, Food Corporation of India (FCI) trounced Nevely Lignite Corporation Limited (NLCL) 11-1. Parminder Singh with four goals, including a hat-trick, was the top scorer for FCI. Other seven goals for the winners were executed by Jitendra, Surendra Singh (2 each); Maninder, Amit Kumar and Sudhir Minz (1 each). Bijay Singh pulled one back for NLCL.
